Unlike other transport solutions, Walsall Community Transport specialise in offering services to the elderly and disabled. All their staff understand the needs of their passengers and go out of their way to ensure their care and comfort during their journey.
If you are a community group or school, Walsall Community Transport offer a minibus hire service at extremely competitive prices for either short or long journeys. As a registered charity, they were set up to help community groups and as such should be your first port of call when looking to organise your transport.
Would you like to give something back to your local community? Then why not consider becoming a volunteer with Walsall Community Transport. Volunteers are needed to assist in the delivery of the Door to Door shopping service. The work involves driving a minibus, collecting older residents from their homes and taking them to their local supermarket. All shopping services have the support of a second person to help with passengers on the vehicle.
Drivers need to be over 25 years of age and have no more than 3 points on their driving licence.
Walsall Community Transport provides full training to enable drivers to drive a minibus through their MIDAS Drivers Awareness Scheme.
These volunteer roles are extremely satisfying, being part of a friendly team, meeting new people and learning new skills. If you have 2-3 hours a week spare and would like to volunteer please call Julie Haynes or Becky Tolley on 01922 685555.
