Good location - just off the M6 - makes it ideal to reach anywhere in the Midlands (motorway willing). Good big car park with plenty of disabled spaces.

Rooms quite noisy from the motorway with the windows open - necessary in August as there is no aircon.

Facilities good, staff very good.

Big downside was the restaurant. The food was good enough and the staff very good but it was the way the menu was priced. The meal was about average for a "steakhouse" type meal. The hotel doesn't really explain that you pay extra per portion of vegetables and potatoes (£4 per portion). This turned what looked like a reasonable priced meal into an overpriced one. Pity.

Would recommend the place, just be aware of the restaurant.

I visited the Village for a celebration meal, and no other part of the hotel was used so can't comment.Ate at the Verve, the food it self was excellent, the rest of the service was a zero rater! when you are paying the sort of prices they charge, you expect, 'a smile' or 'is your meal ok' or'sorry for knocking your drinks over' etc etc. Within 15mins of seating 5 items off the menu were 'out of stock' ! come on, i paid £75.00 for 2 starters,2 mains,2 cokes,2 beers and 2 coffees!!!!! Sorry, but forget a return visit, use a local pub, the service will better. Village- retrain your staff for customer service, we are all watching were we spend our hard earned cash, and mine won't be at the village again!!!!

We had a fantastic meal at The Verve restaurant at the Village Hotel in Walsall. The food was tasty and staff very friendly and accomodating. I would highly recommend the chicken and steak cooked on hot rocks. Great food, great atmosphere, can't wait to go back again.

The Village Hotel in Walsall catered for our recent network event of around 100 people. The food was fantastic and everyone was well looked after by their friendly staff. The team were flexible to all our requirements and all went smoothly. I would highly recommend the Village Hotel as an excellent venue to hold events, you can be sure you are in safe and capable hands.

I booked 3 rooms at this hotel on the 19th June for my birthday night out. The staff were so friendly, rooms spotless, and the breakfast was so nice. If I had to say anything negative I would say the rooms are a little warm but thats nothing in the grand scheme of things. Will definately stay there again.

We stayed here for one night in April for a meeting I had organised. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately we didn't have time to use the leisure club facilities although they looked very inviting.

The price we paid for B&B was very reasonable although there doesn't appear to be a standard rate as other people who attended the meeting paid more than us.

Would definitely recommend The Village, Walsall.

I would like to highlight the caring attention Lisa pays to her customers. I'm made welcome and nothing is too much trouble in making my staff at the Village Hotel a memorable one. Thanks.

I have frequented the restaurant since Jan 2009 (every week). The reason I return every week is because the food and service is excellent.

We stayed at this hotel while visiting Birmingham for the CSI experience. Easy to find, the hotel is just off junction 10 of the M6. Having read some of the reviews here on TA, we were a little concerned, however these concerns were not justified. The welcome we received by check in staff was very warm, and they went out of their way to help us during our whole stay (three nights). The rooms were a double and a twin, next door to each other, and they were very clean and tidy, we were delighted with the facilities in the rooms, tv, hairdryer, coffee and tea (though no biscuits?), as well as iron.

There are two restaurants available, the Verve grill, and the Victory pub and diner. We ate in the pub, and the meals were very good, large portions, although the service could have been faster. Breakfast, served in the Verve grill was buffet style, and plenty variety as far as we were concerned. The staff were very attentive and if something had run out, they were quick to replace them.

The health suite was lovely, and we enjoyed a fair time in the pool. The children particularly liked the opportunity to swim and relax there. The adults preferred the spa pool.

All in all we enjoyed our stay, and would defintely go back if we were in the area again. We would defintely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a break for a reasonable price.

I stayed one night, a Sunday so rooms were quiet and plenty of space. Didnt eat in so canot comment, but buffet breakfast limited but fine. Check in fast as had pre paid, asked for quiet room at end away from mototway, was given room on 3rd floor overlooked playing fields very quiet. Big room huge bed, very comfy. Large flat screen TV, free wi-fi, bath and shower, but only squeezy shower gel. .Very clean and modern public areas. Pool large and warm, Sauna okay not very hot and not water allowed, steam room fine but both dominated by Asian male members a little intimidating, also the Spa bath had unfriendly looking guys sititng in it all the time ( Sunday afternoon) and despite signs saying please leave they were in the whole time I swam 45 mins, staf walking around just ignored it.
Many people milling around reception area, I think due to spa and also Mothers day, Starbucks good idea but closes early on a Sunday
Drink promo on Sunday nights gave you any pint for £1.50, KFC 2 minutes walk across the road a useful alternative if you dont want to eat in. Very close to motorway and huge cap park.
Would stay again, as its hard to find clean hotel near Birmingham with big rooms and a spa at a reasonable price.

Paid £129 for 2 nights B&B with dinner on the first night, so a great deal. Booked with central reservation who were very helpful, and emailed my confirmation. On arrival the reception girl was pleasant, informed me of all the details.

Room was clean, bathroom could have been slightly more sparkling and perfectly adequate for the rate I was paying. One thing that was missing was any guest/room information.

Had room service on the first night, was dealt with quickly, and was delivered on time and was hot.

Yes its next to the M6 but noise was not really an issue and would certainly use it again. Did not try the leisure club out on this occasion

Having read a number of reviews of this hotel on tripadvisor I was expecting surly service and at best a very average stop-over. In fact I was greeted at the desk by a very efficient and cheerful receptionist, and throughout my stay all staff were consistently pleasant and helpful, The gym and pool area are outstandingly good for what is a near-budget priced hotel, while the breakfast was also good offering a wide choice of cooked food and so on in a buffet style. My view - excellent value, great facilities and conveniently located.

My husband and I stayed here for one night as guests at a wedding that was being held at the hotel. I have to say it was OK for that purpose but it is not a place I would stay for a leisure trip or for someone staying in the area sightseeing. Handy location right by the M6 at Junction 10 which would be great if you were stopping off on business. The rooms were quite small however clean, comfortable and basic. The bathroom was clean and quite adequate for our stay. Breakfast the next morning was buffet style and OK however we were lucky to have got there just as all the hot cooked items were being replenished. Very average hotel with the attraction of having a Starbucks on site ! We did not get time to use the leisure facilities, which was just as well as we weren't told where they were or that they even existed by the receptionist when checking in. We didnt see any signs showing directions for them either. The drinks were very expensive even for a hotel and on checking the bar food menu, we saw the food was quite pricy too. I would recommend this hotel if you are a business man/woman in need of a stopping off point in the area but I wouldn't think anyone would want to spend any more than one night here. I also recommend you shop around for the best rate for this hotel, as several of the guests we were with had all paid differing amounts for the same bed and breakfast deal !
