Mixing balloons with wind and sunshine can be difficult.
Summer is definitely here now and so comes its own difficulties as a balloon entertainer. There is the weather – sunshine is wonderful but as latex balloons are biodegradable they cloud and burst easily in the hot summer sunshine. So ideally I need shade when performing. Then there is the wind and to combat this I aim to make wearable balloon art. Balloon creations end up on the wrists, and on hairbands and backpacks ensure that the wind can’t whisk the balloon creation away and cause trauma to a small child!
Also, I have to look after myself as a professional entertainer. I need to keep hydrated and have to drink lots of water. Similarly, I need to protect my skin from burning and I use high factor sunscreen and a hat to minimise scorching. Being in the shade helps with everything!
