The Best of Hastings has unearthed some egg-cellent events for you to keep you and the kids entertained this Easter Weekend. With plenty of Easter Egg hunts, chocolate to win, and other family based events – you will be spoilt for choice.


Easter Egg Hunt – Hastings Museum and Art Gallery

Kick start the weekend, have a fun filled day out at the Hastings Museum and join in with their popular Easter Egg hunt. Search the museum for clues to solve the puzzle, every right answer gets a chocolate treat, so keep a look out!

This is an unsupervised event and any children under 13 much be accompanied by an adult. Starting on Friday 25th March 10am-4pm – The Easter Egg Hunt will continue on into April. Click here for more info.

Easter Bunny Hop - St. Michaels Hospice

Join St. Michael’s Hospice and follow the bunnies around the trail, find the carrots and exchange them for delicious chocolate eggs! Need a sit down?  Then get creative with making your own Easter badge and enter their competition to WIN a bunny - simply guess his name and he can be all yours! Easter at Bluebell Ridge – Bluebell Ridge RSPCA

Fancy something a bit more fluffy? Then head down to the Bluebell Ridge and join in with their cattery Easter trail. You can take part in lots of competitions, grab yourself a goodie bag and stock up on refreshments for a great fun filled day.

But most importantly you get to meet and greet the furry residents, have some Easter cuddles, share the love and make some new friends. This will take place on Easter Saturday 26th 11.30am-2pm. Click here for more info.


Bratby’s Bunny Easter Family Workshop – Jerwood Gallery

How about something more creative and a little messy? Well there is Bratby’s Bunny Easter Family workshop on Tuesday 29th March 12.30pm- 4.30pm. Join them for all things Easter!!

Get stuck in to creating your own Easter memento’s, get imaginative with the craft materials and explore the gallery. Suitable for those aged 4-9 years old and must be accompanied by an adult. Advanced booking essential as there are limited spaces. Click here for more info.


Easter Hunt & Family Workshop – Jerwood Gallery

Another Easter themed event takes place at the Jerwood on Wednesday 6th April 12.30pm – 4.30pm with even more Easter arts and crafts. Artist educator, Emily Hedley, will be on hand to help create your special ideas and give you some tips. Explore the gallery and follow the Easter family trial to find the hidden treasures. This workshop is suitable for those aged 4-9 year olds and must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Click here for more info.


Everything but the kitchen sink: Young people’s story scavenger hunt – Jerwood Gallery

It’s always nice to stroll through the town but what makes it even better is making it into a scavenger hunt! Come along to this creative writing workshop with a difference. Using paintings by artist John Bratby along with some creative writing exercises.

Then off for a Story Scavenger hunt, creating interesting settings for stories and screenplays throughout the town. Let your imagination run wild. Join in on Thursday 7th April 12.30pm- 4.30pm. Click here for more info.


Swan Lake – White Rock Theatre

Sometimes you can have too much chocolate! So why not mix it up? Everyone adores a good love story so how about treating the children to something really special this Easter? The ever popular Vienna Festival Ballet are performing Swan Lake on Wednesday 30th March. Come and see the lavish costumes, stunning scenery and international stars, not to mention the beautiful music from Tchaikovsky. For full details click here.
