Will you be showing your support the Red Arrows at tomorrow’s air display?

The outlook for the weather tomorrow is not great but let’s hope that it does not cause problems for the air display and in particular that it will not affect the Red Arrows display.

The Red Arrows have been an intrinsic part of the Jersey International Air Display and before that the Battle of Britain Air Display for many years and I am sure that we are all very pleased to welcome them back to the island this year.

As you will all know, sadly Flight Lieutenant Egging, 33, died when his Hawk T1 aircraft - Red 4 - crashed south east of Bournemouth Airport last month.

The Red Arrows were grounded after this tragic accident and have recently started flying again after the funeral and Jersey is lucky enough to be included in the displays they are wishing to perform.

To show our remembrance to Flight Lieutenant Egging, the pilots of the Red Arrows would greatly appreciate if those who are going to view the display along the sea wall, would kindly wear RED, as when the Red Arrows were interviewed on the radio last week they stated that colours worn on people can been seen from their cockpits and that this would mean a lot to them.

I hope you will show your support to the Red Arrows.
