Autumn is here and daylight hours are getting shorter but there’s lot’s of interesting events and activities happening in Jersey this weekend to encourage us to get out and about. This is my overview of some that I think have wide appeal.

This is the first of a new weekly blog that will provide information on events happening in Jersey over the weekend. Now that we are into Autumn there are fewer events happening and I thought that it may be of interest if I provided information on those that I am aware of.
From candlelight tours at night, to a Vintage Fair and an extraordinary opportunity to meet Gulf War veteran John Peters; Jersey War Tunnels are planning to deliver the most impressive tribute to Liberation ever seen.
There are two major Panto productions to choose from in Jersey over the Festive season this year. The Jersey Green Room Club presents Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Opera House and the Jersey Amateur Dramatic Club (celebrating its 75th year in 2014) presents the classic family pantomime ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ at the Arts Centre.
Well the weather is glorious (at the moment) and the schools have broken up for summer. If you are looking for something to do there is an abundance of events in Jersey that are attractive to both adults and children, please check out our Events Page for some of the best.
The weather was so nice yesterday that Pam and I decided to visit Durrell to see if we could see some of the babies that have recently been born in their gorilla and orang-utan families.
It’s nearly the end of June and I am sure that many working Jersey families are thinking about how their children will spend their time during the long summer school holidays and looking at the activities that are available to keep them interested and amused.
