Walking routes to build a thirst, what a brilliant idea.

I met with Jo Reed who is responsible for marketing at the Liberation Group recently and she told me about these new walking routes. There is a guide entitled ‘Walking Routes to Build a Thirst’ that can be obtained from the Tourism office that provides full details of each route the estimated time to complete and the level of difficulty.

There are 6 separate routes that cover most areas of the island and give the walker the option to pop into the following pubs for a drink and maybe lunch:

  • The Cock & Bottle
  • The Post Horn
  • The Town House
  • St.Mary’s Country Inn
  • Trinity Arms
  • The Victoria in the Valley
  • Rozel Bar & Restaurant
  • Le Hocq Inn

The walks range in time from 30 minutes, for the town walk to 1 hour 45 minutes for the Trinity walk from The Trinity Arms with the degree of difficulty ranging from Easy to Hard/Medium, so there is something suitable for all.

Me, I’m off to The Victoria to try out the walk in the St.Peter’s countryside, with a nice pint at the end as a reward.
