2009 was the centenary of Pearce Jewellers and as Jane and Peter are great supporters of the parish system it had been their intention to make the donation of tiaras to the parishes then, however time worked against them and the donation had to be delayed until this year. The tiaras are all different and each parish can chose one that they like. This donation has been widely welcomed as some parishes did not have a tiara to present to the winner of their completion. I am sure that the winners will be thrilled with them.
I would like to congratulate Jane and Peter on this initiative as it is an excellent example of how local businesses can support the local community in a positive and innovative manner.
The Miss Parish competitions are being held on the following dates: 12th March: St.Brelade, St.Clement, Grouville, St.Mary, St.Peter, Trinity 19th March: St.Saviour, St.Ouen 20th March: St.John, St.Lawrence 27th March: St.Helier
I hope that these events are well supported, for more information on venue and time please contact your parish hall.
Finally a word to the young ladies of St.Martin, yours is the only parish with no competition, this is due to lack interest from potential competitors. Don’t be shy, make your parish proud of you, give the Constable a call and express interest, if a few girls contact him it is not too late to arrange a completion for your parish!
