With Christmas comming those good people at Jersey Brewery have decided that they needed to create a special brew to mark the season and the result is their ‘Taste of Christmas Ale’, at 4.8% it clearly needs to be consumed with respect!
I know that I will be making a point of enjoying this as it should be a very tasty pint, the fact that it is a truly Jersey Christmas pint and has been produced by a local company, using Genuine Jersey skills and expertise makes it even better. The recipe includes orange zest, mixed spice, raisins, currants and sultanas. The brew will be stored in casks which have been rubbed with Black Butter to allow the flavours to develop. I am told that this will be an easy-drinking beer with a rich, ruby red colour which is especially good enjoyed with winter warming meals and mince pies.
I also understand that Jersey Brewery will be donating 10p of every pint to the National Trust. Puffin will be there too!
I would be interested in feedback from those who have tried the beer, is it as good as it sounds??
