Initially an old warehouse in Bark Street “Lads Club” opened in 1889 as a hostel where the young mill workers were able to wash, eat and sleep in peace away from their looms. Fast forward 125 years, and the children and young people of Bolton are continuing to benefit from the legacy the Club’s founders left for the town. It is testament to their vision that today the Club has over 6,000 members, providing them ‘somewhere to go, something to do, someone to talk to’.
There’s not much time left now till the Bolton and Bury Business Awards 2014 and we’re thrilled to say our members have been nominated in 5 of the 9 categories.
