Our Shrewsbury and Atcham MP is on a mission to get local food and drink into more businesses across the region and showcase its quality. Daniel Kawczynski proposes a 'Shropshire Kitemark' and is garnering support from other MPs and local suppliers.

Food and drink producers from the heart of England, including Shropshire, will be feeding shoppers at House of Fraser stores with their wares. Restaurants in 40 stores, including the one on Shrewsbury High Street, will be featuring the local menus.

This weekend, most of us Shrewsbury folk are probably spending the day thanking our dads for being top blokes. Father's Day is actually a pretty modern thing, and like a number of things, it can make us spend money - and it all started in America.
Thanks to generous donations from people attending a caravan and motorhome show in Shrewsbury - the Macmillan Cancer charity has received a well deserved financial boost. Over £650 was raised from tea and coffee sales during the show at Salop Leisure.

A young woman is bringing her fabulous traditional barbering skills to the Market Hall in Shrewsbury. Amber Risdon has launched Risdon's and is using her finely honed skills to offer male grooming, hair cuts and 'cut-throat' wet shaves.

Shrewsbury Town Council has come up with a 'blooming marvellous' scheme to get local businesses involved with the Olympic torch procession and the Queen's Jubilee. Patriotic flags are being given out for every hanging basket bought and displayed.
