We are pleased that we chose the lovely Old Government House hotel earlier this month. The staff’s helpfulness and professionalism were on target when our AC wasn’t working in our room. We greatly appreciated Kris and his staff with this situation. They switched our rooms and we couldn’t have been happier.

Breakfast was delicious - continental and cooked menu options gave us excellent choices. We will choose this wonderful hotel again if we return to Guernsey.

We are traveling from East Riding of Yorkshire to Guernsey via Poole ferries as I write this.
This is the 4th visit for us in a year so that speaks volumes.
On our previous visits to OGH have been wonderful. I had a special birthday there, our wedding anniversary, a Christmas event, and a few family meal/ stays which this 5 ⭐️ hotel was the perfect venue.
It’s truly got to be the best hotel on St Peter Port. I will enclose some photos of our stays and I’m sure you will understand too why it’s the only 5 star hotel on the island.
Beautiful historic building, Gorgeous clean rooms, lovely welcome at reception. Bars, communal rooms ( piano/ music) and stunning restaurant with menu’s to suit any palate.
Unfortunately we left this holiday booking ( July 25 ) too late therefore “no rooms at the Inn”
So lesson learned there! .
We will still visit The old government house for meals and drinks and hopefully get a few day passes to their fantastic pool and spa. I best not forget the Staff! Very attentive, fun, friendly, and most of all very professional. ❤️

We just had to leave a review after another amazing holiday at the OGH. Great room with a view of the pool, great food, beautiful building in an ideal central location. Andrew, your staff are amazing, greeting us every day as if we were old friends, and we felt so welcome we can’t wait to come back. I always say it’s unfair to name names as without exception all the staff we encountered were brilliant, but a special thank you to concierge Stuart, Alessandro, Siya and Alice in the restaurant and Lovejoy in the bar , who introduced me to my new favourite drink 😊. Thank you again and we can’t wait to come back! Julie & Ben.

Wonderfully attentive staff across the whole hotel! The Brasserie was a delight to dine in. Bryn, Alice, Joy and all of the team couldn’t do enough for you. The personification of high quality staff that obviously enjoy their jobs and love to interact with guests. I saw the staff treat all guests with respect and went out of their way to be of assistance and help in any way. Truly lovely people.

I had the most amazing authentic English afternoon tea experience at The Old Government House Hotel & Spa with my fiancé and his mum.
Everything was perfect—from the elegant setting to the beautifully arranged tiered stand of sandwiches, scones, and sweet treats. The tea selection was lovely, and the staff were absolutely amazing—so warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit.
It was such a special and memorable afternoon in a truly charming and historic setting. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to enjoy a proper English afternoon tea in Guernsey. We’ll definitely be back!

Fantastic evening at the OGH. Delicious seafood platter, brilliant, cocktails, and wonderful service throughout the evening. The staff even created a bespoke coffee with a picture for Tessa my dog. Alessandro and his team five star as always.

Beautiful hotel with old English island vibes. Extremely friendly staff, excellent breakfast and so kind to our 3 month old baby. Thank you very much to Kris & team!

Premium room was not well positioned nor had enough space for a fridge to keep milk and make tea. Best bit- very comfy bed. Too colonial - conservatory side. However, very helpful staff. Friendly too. Especially Kris the duty manager & Stuart.

Whilst the hotel is 5 star thanks to its excellent facilities; it is its staff that really make this hotel stand out from the crowd. We chose Guernsey as a holiday location as we’d got a dog and never having travelled with her before, wanted something easy. We all were made to feel welcome; we had a suite which was a real treat and dog bed and bowl were provided. When this hotel says ‘pets allowed’ what they mean is ‘pets are loved’ ! The dog was made to feel as welcome as we were. Food was delicious (particularly the lamb curry served up in The Curry Room which was outstanding). We will definitely be back!

We held our wedding at the OGH and couldn’t fault our experience. Planning everything from abroad made it a little more difficult but the events manager, Mel, was exceptional—she made us feel completely at ease and in safe hands from the very start. In the lead-up to the big day, everything from the food tasting to the planning meetings with the team was smooth, professional, and accommodating.
On the day itself, the staff were fantastic—attentive, warm, and seamless in their service. So many of our guests commented on how great the team was. We opted for a three-course meal, which received rave reviews. Everything ran perfectly and exceeded our expectations. We would absolutely recommend the OGH to anyone looking for a beautiful, well-run wedding venue.

Lovely beautiful old building. Went for drinks before dinner.
Be careful though - when ordering a Gordon’s gin and tonic they will charge you for a double Whedons!!! Couldn’t complain because I didn’t want to make a scene. Not impressed I must say!
Rest of the place stunning and as it should be!

We had an amazing time at the fantastic hotel. Our suite was very luxury and had everything we needed in

I cannot, in all honestly, pick out one member of staff who was outstanding because the whole of the staff team, without exception, from the cleaners to the managers were exceptional.

The hotel is full of Old World charm, with beautifully decorated guest rooms and public areas.
Staff were particularly pleasant and helpful, and a special mention is due to Kris who went out of his way to make our stay memorable.
We have stayed in many hotels around the world but breakfasts at the OGH were among the best we have had anywhere.
We look forward to visiting again.

Wow what a lovely hotel! Spent 4 days there over our wedding anniversary and was treated to lovely treat when we returned to room along with card from staff and complimentary glass of champagne before our evening meal and then another treat from the staff in dining room .
Could not fault the food or the service from any of the staff all who were lovely from the cleaners to the management.
Alessandro in the brassiere was a joy and all the girls were lovely.special thanks to Pamile and the 2 other girls who helped me when I fell over ( and the 2 strapping great men who helped me up ).
We managed to park in disabled spot most days but when unavailable a guy from the hotel parked it for us and brought it to front of hotel when needed again.
Luggage was taken upstairs for us and brought down when we left.
I cannot say good enough things about this hotel and would recommend to anyone.

Lovely hotel
Great staff
Very clean
Exceptional breakfast
Beautiful main restaurant
Great valet parking

The only negative is this isn’t the best hotel for anyone with mobility problems
I have rheumatoid arthritis in my hands and ankle which made some of the amenities difficult for me. The lift is limited only going to some rooms
The swimming pool has no steps so need to use ladder to enter impossible for me.

We don’t usually leave reviews, but our 5day stay end of May 2025 at your OGH was exceptional to stay the least, all the staff that we encountered are kind, helpful and always attentive .We must also point out a certain member of staff in particular being Kris ( front duty manager) who was very helpful in relocating us to another room due to couple of issues with our 1st room, nothing was a problem, he’s certainly an asset to your hotel group .
The food from breakfast to dinners was also very good , room service was very attentive , all the staff are always greeting you with a smile .
Should we return to Guernsey , the OGH will certainly be our choice.
Regards
Mr & Mrs Duggan

I highly recommend this hotel. Everything is of very high quality. The welcome is great thanks to the entire hotel team, especially Pamela and Kris. In addition, this hotel is conveniently located in Saint Peter port in Guernsey. We liked Guernsey a lot.

We only spent one night at OGH which is a massive pity! Everything about the hotel was superb-the staff, the room, the restaurant were above amazing.
The bed was extremely comfortable, the room was a little dated but perfectly clean and relaxing.
We had dinner in the restaurant and both agreed it was the best meal we have eaten in a long time, and at a very reasonable price. The breakfast was also amazing.
Many thanks to everyone who made the stay so special

Very nice hotel in the heart of Saint Peter.
Staff attentive and with little care while remaining discreet. An old-fashioned atmosphere worthy of a novel by Agatha Christie. Very nice experience out of time.
Special signing for manager Kris Raggoo very attentive and extremely pleasant.
We'll probably go back.

What a fantastic stay, Kriss could not have been any more amazing. We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. All the staff are incredible and very attentive to detail. Roberto, Pamela and the rest of the staff will make your stay as perfect as possible. The stark suite had amazing views of the port and was ideal for our stay. The small details like a snack in the evening at turn down, a sweetie corner (for those with a sweet tooth) and remembering what you like to drink etc just tops it off. The food is amazing. We thank you, and we hope to see you again next year ❤️❤️

We express our sincere thanks to him.

A particularly neat and warm welcome, with a constant concern to bring the best service to the customer, all with a smile, discretion and very great availability. Very pleasant atmosphere, in impeccable and luxurious English decoration, with very comfortable rooms. Very close to the port and tourist areas. Great place to stay in Guernsey. We highly recommend it!
