What a fabulous hotel. As soon as we arrived the amazing customer service began.
We had a fantastic time in this beautiful hotel. Our room was incredible with a stunning view of the port.
Josh and Roberto - Charlie at the gym - fantastic people - who genuinely were kind and helpful. There was also a lovely man who did the rooms and turn down service. I didn’t catch his name but he was so kind.
All the staff are just great. The location is perfect. Guernsey is beautiful. The breakfast is outstanding and we enjoyed the spa. We would come back just to enjoy the hotel. We didn’t want to leave! Thank you for a great memories !

Quirky ( in a good way!) hotel in a good location in St Peter’s Port. I had two nights here on Biz and it was a very comfortable stay. The hotel provides a lot for its size including nice extra touches such as turn down services ( with Chocs!) something that sadly you don’t see as often these days. I had several meals and breakfasts in the hotel, all were very good, the hotel manager ran a tight ship and was hands on ( Alexandro I believe apologies if I have mis spelt) I spoke with the hotel manager Andrew a couple of times during my stay, he was to his credit a very visible and personable manager and this rubs off on the staff who were all polite, friendly and keen to help.

We've just arrived back after staying for a few days on the beautiful island of Guernsey at the wonderful OGH.
We were welcomed so warmly by Christina at the front desk and immediately felt relaxed. We were offered welcome drinks and consumed them in the garden. This approach to guests was used by every member of staff who couldn't do enough to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. We were shown to our beautiful room, with a sea view, by Josh who did a perfect, professional job explaining where everything was in the room, and in the hotel.
The breakfasts at OGH are superb, everything cooked to perfection and such a wide choice. Shaminee in the dining room was very efficient and welcoming as were Alice and another young man all attending to our every need.Sorry if I've spelt names incorrectly.
Alessandro is certainly at the top of his game in the dining room and our evening meal there was delicious, made extra special by his excellent attention to detail. We enjoy good, quality food and we're not disappointed.
This attention to detail was evident in the way that our room was prepared. We especially loved Sujii's towel creations left on our bed in the evening with a sweet treat. The room was cleaned and fresh by the cleaning staff every day.
On departure, Stewart and Josh ensured that our luggage was safely delivered to the taxi.
The OGH is certainly a special place. I've mentioned a few people by name but need to add that every single staff member was attentive and helpful, in the spa, the entrance hall, the Curry Room., everywhere. Thank you for a really fabulous stay, we enjoyed every minute.

The Old Government House is a very special place to stay. It is a beautiful building. The bedrooms are well equipped and housekeeping is immaculate. The lounge is a lovely room for a drink or afternoon tea. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts and dinner. Every member of staff shows courtesy and efficiency. It’s hard to single any one person out but will just mention Wilkins in the dining room for his swift attention and cheerful smile.

Just had another amazing stay at your lovely hotel. 4th stay and review and what should I add. We were greeted like old friends and everyone was so welcoming. Special mention to Roberto and Andrew greeting us, and Alessandro, Byron and lovely Alice in the restaurant. Perfect room with an amazing view and everything was spotless. Little treats each night from housekeeping. I will say again Andrew you should (and I know you are) be very proud of every single member of your staff. They are amazing!

Thank you again, we are already planning 2 visits for next year.

Had a great break at the OGH, we would highly recommend a stay. All staff were very friendly and helpful, from the housekeeping, who kept our super room clean and tidy. To the management. Little added bonuses during the stay were a nice surprise. Fantastic breakfast with lots of lovely options. Are already planning to go back next year.

Have just returned from our first (but not the last!) visit to the Old Government House Hotel in Guernsey. What a wonderful place with the friendliest staff who do everything possible to make it a standout experience.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted warmly by Chrystina and given a tour of the hotel by the lovely Josh. Our luggage was taken to our room which was a large room on the second floor with a gorgeous sea view.

The hotel is in an ideal location - a short 5 minute stroll down to the town and another couple to the Esplanade. the staff gave us lots of tips on things to see and do which was hugely helpful.

Breakfast each morning was a really enjoyable experience with a great choice of cooked items in addition to pastries, yoghurts, fresh fruit, cold meats and cheeses, cereals…For me the “stress down” juice I had each morning was a highlight.

We ate in the curry restaurant one night and thoroughly enjoyed it. We also had lunch in the brasserie which is to be recommended.

The housekeeping team do a fantastic job of freshening and cleaning the rooms each day. And the evening turndown service and treat left was a nice touch.

All the staff are lovely. Some we met were: Roberto, Byron, Josh, Chrystina…but all were warm, super helpful and welcoming.

We loved it and hope to return before too long!

What a superb hotel! All the staff are very professional, polite and courteous. The food is really good. It was our wedding anniversary whilst we were there and after a day out we returned to our room to find a cake and greetings. Lovely touch. The hotel is well situated for buses for sightseeing around the island and close to the port. We would highly recommend this hotel and will return. Beautiful sunrises. Our thanks especially to Owethu on reception, the concierge Roberto and Josh and Thanusha duty manager not forgetting Byron in the bar and Marsha I the restaurant. Thank you to all the staff for a really great week away from home.

Nothing was too much trouble. The level of service, the dining experience, the way our accomadation was serviced - all were excellent. I cannot thank the team at OGH enough. We will certainly be back!

Booked a four day break and was given a Queen Room 109. Tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and a lovely balcony that overlooks the port. Service is first class, all very friendly....cater for everything. Food and drink is exceptional. Located just off the High Street in an elevated position....quiet and ok if you don't like hills. Superb hotel offering a 5star service

From the moment we arrived we were warmly greeted by the staff and check in went very smoothly. We had a tour of the hotel and our bags were taken to our room for us. We ate at some of the recommended restaurants and appreciated them being suggested to us. The housekeepers do an excellent job, their hard work is very much appreciated and we could not fault the cleanliness of the room! We enjoyed the evening treats after turn down too! The supplies of coffee and biscuits in the room were a nice touch and our water was regularly replaced when it ran out. The staff who work in the restaurant and bar are very attentive and made our breakfast there most enjoyable. The kitchen staff and chefs also deserve praise as everything we ate was delicious, we could not fault the food at all or the quality of the produce available like the fruit at breakfast. We used the space facilities twice, it was disappointing that the steam room was out of service. The sauna was great however did have a funny smell it could do with some aromas in there.
Our stay went so smoothly, it is a beautiful hotel and the staff and quality of everything was exceptional and we would definitely recommend your hotel and stay again!

I not sure where to start. Wonderful hotel and staff I guess would be the best way. While visiting Guernsey I fell and broke my hip. We were only supposed to stay for 3 nights, but with my fall it ended up being 9 nights. I spent 5 nights in the hospital and the staff was more than accommodating. They went out of there way to make sure my wife was taken care of which was so comforting to me. They transported her back and forth from the hospital and hotel and the restaurant staff sent pastries each morning with her for me. I had surgery on my birthday and a couple of the staff came to the hospital with a delicious piece of cake and sang happy birthday. Just absolutely a wonderful hotel!

Old school proper hospitality. Whilst we received amazing hospitality on the majority of the trip, it could do with a few tweeks. Some of the rooms are noisy due to the spa and air con units. Service was mostly 5* but one day was really lacking & couldn't get a boiled egg correct. On the whole the portions at breakfast were huge, the staff v friendly, although one person spent her time chatting instead of serving so took half hr to take order. They did go above and beyond mostly & I wouldn't hesitate to go back. Lovely atmosphere & friendly staff too

A very old-fashioned hotel, which is a big plus these days.
PRO’S:-
Every one of the staff provide exemplary service in a friendly & efficient way, from reception, concierge, restaurants, bars, spa, housekeeping etc. They are all a real credit to the manager.
The food was excellent, particularly at breakfast. No chance of getting bored with the same food over a 5 night stay.
CON’S:-
We stayed in a suite where the air con was quite inefficient - OK for us as the temperature didn’t get above 20 degrees during our stay, but if your’e staying during a warm spell in summer it might get uncomfortable.
The shower in our suite was a 600 x 600 cubicle - too small for a 6 footer like me.
The spa is basic and not up to the standard of more modern hotel facilities. If this is important to you I would suggest you consider staying elsewhere. Also although the outdoor pool area is nice, the pool is only heated to 25 degrees, so a bit chilly at this time of the year. There is no easy access from the spa to the pool, although each have their own changing rooms.
We had a family with young children staying above us and we could hear them running across the floor - up to 10.30 at night & from 07.00 in the morning. Not the hotels fault, but the lack of sound insulation between floors in these circumstances is an issue.

We would definitely stay again if we return to Guernsey in the future.

Just had a week’s holiday here and cannot find anything negative to say! What a wonderful hotel! Everything about it was first class from the moment we arrived. All the staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The bedroom was beautiful and the linens and towels were of the highest quality. Breakfast in the lovely dining room was plentiful with choices to suit even the fussiest of eaters!
We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and hope to make a return visit.
