We enjoyed another four night stay at this wonderful hotel. The hotel is ideally situated for St Peter Port, with its own outdoor pool area. A special mention has to be made of Pamela, Tendayi and Shamanee, who made the most wonderful cappuccino. Kris on reception was excellent and how he remembered my name is a complete mystery. It just shows how professional he was.
Our room was overlooking the pool area and was very pleasant but on the small side. Everything we had used was replaced daily, which was good. I asked for fresh milk as I don’t enjoy the milk in cartons.
Breakfast is always a highlight of the day and the choice was always amazing. The selection of fresh fruit was amazing.
Would recommend without hesitation.

Our third visit and each time the hotel has been superb. Facilities are perfect, rooms incredibly comfortable, bar and restaurant relaxing and serving fine food be it the bar menu or restaurant. BUT the overall winner is the staff - they are all so attentive qand pleasant without being pompous, they make you feel so comfortable and relaxed. Nothing is too much trouble. I am particularly impressed by the fact that any of the staff will undertake any tasks tomake the guests stay comfortable, if you would like something you can ask any of them.

My Husband and I celebrated our Wedding Anniversary whilst staying at the OGH over Easter. This was our first stay, from the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed and treated with the utmost care and attention. Throughout our stay the Hotel's staff were consistently attentive and ready to help with genuine kindness and thoughtfulness. The Hotel was beautiful and we took advantage of the spa facilities. We had amazing food and each area of the Hotel was meticulously maintained and we felt very comfortable here.
The combination of outstanding service, beautiful accommodation and amenities made it a memorable experience, the location was perfect right in the centre of town. I highly recommend this Hotel to anyone seeking a remarkable and relaxing getaway -where staff go above and beyond to ensure you have a wonderful experience. There's not many Hotels like this left - thank you for making our time here a fabulous experience

We had a fabulous Spring break at the OGH. I would go as far as to say that this was probably one of our best hotel experiences ever. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and professional from the moment we arrived until our departure. The room was super with views of the harbour and sea beyond. The food was of a high standard and came as sensible portions, and we found the gym a useful facility. The biggest plus was the location of the hotel, just a short walk away from the shops and harbour. Thank you, OGH, for a fab few days!

Under NEW management and great April 2025. Could not fault it, bars and restaurant good, clean accommodation. Above all ALL staff were very professional and genuinely friendly. I joked they put me on the top floor and I was a cardio patient. They offered to move us which I declined and the guy insisted on taking my luggage upstairs. Best place I’ve stayed at ever.

We recently enjoyed a week at OGH. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and my birthday while we were there. The hotel marked both occasions and made a fuss of us which was lovely.

We were really impressed with all of the staff but in particular Kris, Alessandro, Thanusha, Mario and Byron. They were very kind, friendly and professional we enjoyed our chats with them. The breakfast was excellent, as was Dinner, when we ate in the Brasserie and the Curry Room.

Fantastic hotel. We were in a king suite with a balcony overlooking the bay.

Staff were great, really attentive, couldn’t do enough for us. Food was excellent. We enjoyed breakfast every day and treated ourselves to an afternoon tea on our last day

Would totally recommend this hotel

The OGH is an outstanding hotel with traditional values and service.
The staff are all excellent and nothing is too much trouble. Kris, Roberto and Chritina are always welcoming, personable and greet one with a smile.... the restaurant staff are excellent as are the well prepared and presented meals...
The location is excellent and the car concierge service is first rate.
Some might describe the OGH as old fashioned, we describe it as a bastion of world class service, traditional values and excellent staff who are a team and it shows...

Very nice property, well placed in the town of Guernsey. The staff is lovely (with special mention to Kris at the front desk, Roberto the concierge, Ranga for his helpful side and Pamela at the restaurant), very attentive to the customer, always smiling. Heated swimming pool from May. Several lounges in the hotel. Some rooms are a little small, but the bedding is excellent. Very good breakfast.

We have just returned from 3 wonderful nights spent at the OGH Hotel. It is well placed in St Peter Port, close to the port, shops, visitor attractions etc. The decor is as you would expect - sumptuous luxury everywhere. Meals were beautifully presented and tasted great. Our overriding sentiment is that we were made to feel so special. Kris and all the staff were warm, generous and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. In true OGH spirit we became part of the family. Can’t wait to return!

We celebrated our one year wedding anniversary here (after spending our honeymoon at the OGH last year) and once again, we had the most amazing time. We were spoilt with a room upgrade and spa acces. We then had a beautiful dinner with cocktails in the Crown Club, followed by the best sleep in the comfiest of beds. We woke up to a chocolate egg outside our door, as it was also Easter - a lovely touch! A super yummy breakfast, followed by a beautiful afternoon tea... And to top it off, a couples massage! Safe to say, it was the most fabulous 24 hours, and the staff are just the most friendly and helpful we have ever encountered. Big shout out to Kris, Pamela and Christina for making it extra special! We shall see you again next year!

Fabulous cocktail masterclass! Jeffrey was involved but not intrusive. He gave direction but wasn’t overbearing. Fun, relaxed, boozy and a perfect Christmas present to enjoy time with my mum! Thank you Jeffrey - we will be back for the next class soon!

This was one of the most pleasant hotel stays we've experienced. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left they looked after us. Kris on reception allowed us into our room well before check-in time and gave us extra time after the offical check-out too. So many good things about the place & people and the Easter egg hanging on our bedroom door made it all extra special!

A brief but thoroughly enjoyable visit to Guernsey with an overnight stay at the OGH.
Absolutely excellent service with the one small issue resolved with aplomb and consideration by Kris at Reception.
The restaurant and bar staff were extremely hospitable and friendly, and lunch and breakfast service and food quality were first class.
A room upgrade was appreciated but the room we were given at the back of the hotel was affected by the noise generated by the kitchen extractor fan. My complaint met with a sympathetic response and a speedy change of room to a particularly nice room which was very well received by us.
Over the years I have stayed many times at the OGH but this was the first return in recent years. The hotel has long been a favourite and there is little doubt that the service ethos has evolved even further since my last visit.
Well done OGH and especially the front of house and restaurant staff who did so much to make this short visit so enjoyable.

Went here for a Champagne afternoon tea we'd been given as a present. Service was good initially and the cakes etc excellent but unfortunately by the time we were ready to leave all staff had vanished and we had to go to reception to find someone to 'box up' our remaining cakes. At this point a member of staff was found. She handed us boxes then abruptly left. It was a disappointing end to what should have been a joyous occasion and, because of that, I'd find it difficult to recommend the OGH to others.

Dear Andrew,

It was good to meet you briefly at the hotel just before we left on Monday.
This was my first visit to Guernsey and Pauline had been previously but many years ago.
We had a great time there and the weather was kind too.
The visit was particularly enhanced and made extremely joyful by staying with you at the OGH.
Our room was great, and the food was outstanding but most of all the staff were of the very best you can find- at all times.
From Roberto’s greeting on arrival to your bid farewell you were all fantastic. Each staff member is a credit to themselves personally and indeed to your group.
Furthermore, with this exemplary behavior it is so good for all the guests to see the old-fashioned ways of courtesy, manners, thoughtfulness, and kindness with a smile.
It was an added bonus to for me to find so many Zimbabweans working with you. It was great to chat with them and know that they have done so well in their lives.
This is no surprise for me being Zimbabwean myself and missing this beautiful land but in complete turmoil these days. Corruption, sadly is so bad in Zimbabwe it is completely out of control but one day we all hope and pray it will be better for our friends and families still living there. I support a charity here which does its best to supply food and medicine to those who have nothing in Zimbabwe. It is called ZANE (Zimbabwe a National Emergency)
My Mum (a single Mum with 3 children) worked at the World Famous (In those days) Victoria Falls Hotel from 1952 to 1958. It is still a good hotel but would be great again in your group with your staff!

With kind regards to you and all your staff who made us feel at home!
Thank you.

A four day break with another couple, our original trawl of hotels became a shortlist of three and chatting with Channel Islands Direct suggested this Hotel was an excellent choice.
She was not wrong, It's a beautiful old building and seemingly extended into adjacent buildings meaning there are minor level changes but all fully accessible with lifts or slopes. Nicely decorated and in most areas with sound deadening wall coverings and carperts which makes it a comfortable environment without the booming echoes which has become prevalent recently.
There are plenty of staff and without exception smiling and happy to assist with anything, Bed and pillows very comfortalble even for my long term back problem.
Very good food, we only had one evening meal and an afternoon tea in addition to the breakfast; which is freshly cooked to order along with a good selection of buffet.

The only negative comment I can muster; there is temporarily scaffolding in the area of the room we had, but quite honestly I think it would be unfair to criticise them for maintining the hotel which is open and popular all year.

The quality of service is truly incredible, a special thank you to Kris who speaks impeccable French and who was a great help on several topics. The breakfast is one of the best we ate and the bedding is perfect. I recommend it!

We visit Guernsey regularly and have stayed at The OGH on a number of occasions. This time we went to celebrate my wife's birthday (with mine a couple of days later). The service from Kris, Roberto and the entire team was amazing with nothing being too much trouble. We were welcomed back from the moment we walked into reception on the first day and made to feel very much at home, and it was lovely to be recognised by many of the staff who have been there for a number of years now.
We simple can't find fault with the experience or the facilities and are already looking forward to returning in July for another celebration!

An excellent hotel. The room was clean and tidy. The rest of the hotel was also clean and tidy. We were upgraded to a higher grade room, which was fantastic! The service from all the staff was exceptional. They really live up to their five star rating. The restaurant, bar, front of house and Spa staff were just spot on for giving five star service. I was celebrating my birthday with my husband, and they really made it special. It was very touching .Thank you OGH staff. Keep up the fantastic work!

Originally we weren’t supposed to be in this establishment, but we ended up there due to an unforeseen event in the hotel booked initially...
The welcome was just great, where we felt good. Unaccustomed to the standing of a 5 star hotel, the hotel team showed great sympathy and warm empathy, benevolent and smiling.
Special thanks to Kris and Pamela, who were able to pamper us with perfect French and consider us privileged hosts. Really very friendly, and with little care...
Of all the high standing establishments we have had the opportunity to frequent in Europe (mainly 4 stars and rare 5 stars such as the waldorf astoria of Versailles ) the OGH team is to be ranked in first place!
The hotel itself is of a very British class, of great charm and the restaurant is superb .. Very stylish decoration without being ostentatious.
The bedding is of excellent quality.
Here, what more to say ... magnificent and unforgettable stay largely due to this exceptional team.
