Had a lovely Sunday lunch.

Perfect location. It was a very quiet Wednesday lunchtime in February so difficult to comment on the atmosphere. Good value for a 5 star hotel. Service was friendly and staff were very helpful. We even had a tour of the whiskey room! A very enjoyable experience.

Our stay at the OGH was exceptional. We were greeted by Kris, by our names and shown to our room and were made to feel very welcome. The first day we were there we toured around Guernsey and enjoyed our time walking. We had a great time at cocktail hour and our dinner at the hotel. However, our 2nd day got complicated when my husband had an accident while we were on a tour. This is when the well trained and exceptional staff at OGH showed us how exceptional they really were. While I went to the ER with my husband, the staff worked with our friends to get us new flights off the island and home (USA). We got served coffee and then since our new flights were so early in the morning they prepared us breakfast boxes to take along the next morning, along with hot coffee and cappuccinno's. You always know how good a team is when there is an issue to solve, and this team rose to the occasion. We want to thank Kris and his front desk team and Pamela and Byron in the restaurant for looking after us. This is an exceptional team and hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Guernsey.

Big fan of Sunday lunch here. Never as busy as it deserves to be, perhaps only because there’s a bit of a shortage of parking nearby. Anyway, the food is great and the staff are lovely. It’s all very civilised. Easy 5* from me.

Wonderful location and hotel. The staff are fantastic and provide the right level of service where required. The rooms are a bit small, and traditionally decorated, but this is in keeping with the overall design.
Food service is fantastic across the various restaurants. It is expensive, though, and there is a question whether it's right for you.
Highly recommended and will be returning

A Piece of Perfection in St Peter Port
My stay at The Old Government House Hotel & Spa (OGH) was an absolute delight, an oasis of quiet luxury and traditional charm that far exceeded all expectations. As the only five-star hotel on the island, the OGH lives up to its prestigious reputation in every possible way.
From the moment of arrival, the staff were exceptional. The front desk staff treated us like friends returning home. Nothing was too much trouble for the team, who consistently demonstrated a warm, professional, and genuinely attentive approach that made us feel special throughout our entire stay. The level of hospitality here is truly second to none.
Our room was beautiful, elegantly furnished, and immaculately clean, with plush bathrobes and high-quality amenities. We were fortunate to have a stunning sea view, offering breathtaking vistas of the harbour and the neighboring islands of Herm and Sark. The comfort was outstanding, ensuring a perfect night's sleep in a tranquil environment.
The food and drink options are a highlight. Breakfast in the lovely Brasserie restaurant was a magnificent spread of buffet items and made-to-order hot options. We also had the pleasure of dining in the intimate Curry Room at The Governor's, where the authentic Indian cuisine was simply divine. The beautiful setting and superb service elevated every meal.

The Old Government House is more than just a hotel; it is an experience of classic elegance and unparalleled service that will leave you with a warm, glowing feeling of contentment and a longing to return. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

We’ve just returned from the most beautiful, blissful stay at the Old Government House Hotel and Spa, and honestly, there is nothing we could fault—other than wishing we’d stayed longer.

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel completely at home. We were welcomed with a glass of fizz by Kris on reception, who remembered little details from a previous stay, instantly making us feel like valued returning guests. That personal touch set the tone for the entire visit and made it clear we could truly relax.

We were very kindly upgraded to a stunning Queen Superior room, which had been thoughtfully decorated for our anniversary. The room was immaculate, and the newly refurbished bathroom was beautiful. Every member of staff we encountered was warm, friendly, and genuinely attentive.

The team in the brasserie especially Pamela deserve a special mention for going above and beyond to accommodate dietary requirements—nothing was ever too much trouble, and for being so genuine and warm. The service throughout was exceptional and effortless. Also thanks Ryan in the bar for the best cocktails and always service with a smile!

This hotel is one of the very few places where we can genuinely switch off, and that alone makes it incredibly special. To top it all off, we had the most amazing massage from the wonderful spa team—an absolute highlight of the stay.

From the fabulous food, drinks and incredible staff to the thoughtful details throughout, our experience was completely faultless. We wouldn’t change a thing, other than staying longer, and we can’t wait to find an excuse to return.

Highly recommended.

We booked a three night stay, Mon 5th - Thu 8th January, mainly a three day break for my birthday.
Your hotel was exceptional and the staff incredible, they went over and above looking after us and ensuring we had an amazing stay, including helping make my birthday certainly one to remember.
After we checked out on Thursday, we received the news that our flight back to Southampton had been cancelled due to the storm. We rang the hotel reception, explained our predicament and the lady said to my wife, "Do you want to come home?" which we certainly felt it to be just like home.
Again we were looked after, made to feel special and given the same room.
On the Friday after we checked out, we were even at the airport and about to board the plane when again the flight was cancelled due to, 'Operational reasons!"
Again we called the hotel for another night, were given the same room and again spoilt by the staff.
So our original three night stay turned into five nights, which turned out not to be a hardship as the hotel staff exceeded our expectations making the five nights
All this made us feel that we certainly got value for money.
So many thanks for everything, much appreciated. We’ll be back.

Family members and I had a great stay at this hotel. Rooms and decor are brilliant, as expected, I suppose. The bed was extremely comfortable.
But it was the staff that make this hotel special - the receptionists are knowledgable and friendly. The restaurant personnel are extremely attentive. The young chap/bellboy at reception couldn’t be more helpful if he tried!
The location is great.
We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel and would not hesitate to go back.

We stayed here over Christmas and had a truly wonderful experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and professional, making us feel genuinely cared for throughout our stay. We have stayed in many hotels over the years, but this one stands above the rest. It is easily one of our favourite hotels, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. We will definitely be back.

The place is superb (superbly British), very warmly decorated for the end of the year. A team at the top, managed by the fabulous Kris (frontdesk). Great New Year's Eve party (dinner + 2 hours of dancing) and rest the next day. A very good choice that I recommend and especially take the time to have a drink and / or tea in the different bars of the establishment.

Hubby surprised me with a 4 night stay at the OGH for our 30th wedding anniversary. We stayed in a Seaview king with balcony room. The staff were really welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The room was really lovely and the bed super comfortable. The bottles of spring water were really nice too and the tea and coffee. The Brasserie breakfast was delicious each morning and again the staff were wonderful. On our anniversary the staff gave us a lovely piece of cake with a nice message and card which was a lovely touch and gave us glasses of prosecco with our afternoon tea, now that was superb, the sandwiches were divine and the Halloween cakes were so cute. We had dinner in the Brasserie and Curry Room during our stay and both meals were excellent and again the staff were fantastic. The concierge was so helpful especially with the umbrella on a very rainy day. The turn down service was fab and we loved the towel elephant. The only niggle we had was the grout on the floor tiles in the bathroom was missing and I caught my foot on the tile but we just covered it with a bath mat as we didn't want to be awkward or make a fuss. The bath also had a piece of enamel missing but we used the shower so that wasn't a problem and certainly didn't stop our enjoyment of the hotel or our stay. We would definitely stay again the OGH is just perfect

What a fabulous hotel. As soon as we arrived the amazing customer service began.
We had a fantastic time in this beautiful hotel. Our room was incredible with a stunning view of the port.
Josh and Roberto - Charlie at the gym - fantastic people - who genuinely were kind and helpful. There was also a lovely man who did the rooms and turn down service. I didn’t catch his name but he was so kind.
All the staff are just great. The location is perfect. Guernsey is beautiful. The breakfast is outstanding and we enjoyed the spa. We would come back just to enjoy the hotel. We didn’t want to leave! Thank you for a great memories !

Quirky ( in a good way!) hotel in a good location in St Peter’s Port. I had two nights here on Biz and it was a very comfortable stay. The hotel provides a lot for its size including nice extra touches such as turn down services ( with Chocs!) something that sadly you don’t see as often these days. I had several meals and breakfasts in the hotel, all were very good, the hotel manager ran a tight ship and was hands on ( Alexandro I believe apologies if I have mis spelt) I spoke with the hotel manager Andrew a couple of times during my stay, he was to his credit a very visible and personable manager and this rubs off on the staff who were all polite, friendly and keen to help.

We've just arrived back after staying for a few days on the beautiful island of Guernsey at the wonderful OGH.
We were welcomed so warmly by Christina at the front desk and immediately felt relaxed. We were offered welcome drinks and consumed them in the garden. This approach to guests was used by every member of staff who couldn't do enough to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. We were shown to our beautiful room, with a sea view, by Josh who did a perfect, professional job explaining where everything was in the room, and in the hotel.
The breakfasts at OGH are superb, everything cooked to perfection and such a wide choice. Shaminee in the dining room was very efficient and welcoming as were Alice and another young man all attending to our every need.Sorry if I've spelt names incorrectly.
Alessandro is certainly at the top of his game in the dining room and our evening meal there was delicious, made extra special by his excellent attention to detail. We enjoy good, quality food and we're not disappointed.
This attention to detail was evident in the way that our room was prepared. We especially loved Sujii's towel creations left on our bed in the evening with a sweet treat. The room was cleaned and fresh by the cleaning staff every day.
On departure, Stewart and Josh ensured that our luggage was safely delivered to the taxi.
The OGH is certainly a special place. I've mentioned a few people by name but need to add that every single staff member was attentive and helpful, in the spa, the entrance hall, the Curry Room., everywhere. Thank you for a really fabulous stay, we enjoyed every minute.

The Old Government House is a very special place to stay. It is a beautiful building. The bedrooms are well equipped and housekeeping is immaculate. The lounge is a lovely room for a drink or afternoon tea. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts and dinner. Every member of staff shows courtesy and efficiency. It’s hard to single any one person out but will just mention Wilkins in the dining room for his swift attention and cheerful smile.
