Sophie Shand, P.D.N.N., D.N.N., of Fuller Nutrition is a natural nutritional therapist, naturopath, lifestyle coach, public speaker, aromatherapist and Reiki practitioner.
While living in the UK Sophie wrote articles for the Style magazine of The Sunday Times and practiced in two London-based clinics, in Old Street and Drury Lane. Sophie gained renown there for working with clients suffering from Crohn's disease and irritable bowel syndrome.
In 2002 Sophie returned to Guernsey to raise a family and she has since appeared on Channel TV news, BBC Radio Guernsey and has written articles for local magazines and newspapers raising awareness of diet and lifestyle changes that can improve general health.
Now Sophie is able to bring her considerable skills and knowledge to help Guernsey locals wanting to improve their diet and lifestyle.
Sophie has a gentle, holistic approach to resolving health issues. She loves food and does not want to make her clients' lives miserable and restrained in what foods they can enjoy. Sophie believes that we must learn to listen to what our body is telling us, so that we can take the right nutritional steps when necessary to help return our body to good health and digestion.
Sophie's father had chronic sinusitis and gout that was massively improved in his late 30s by a naturopath, which led her whole family to a more healthy diet during Sophie's childhood. This also led to her father buying a health food business, so healthy nutrition is just an integral part of Sophie's background and she has devoted her career to helping others overcome their health issues through better nutrition.
Through uniquely tailored consultations Sophie normally takes 1-3 sessions to identify and suggest beneficial changes to a client that will allow them to improve aspects of their health and allow their body to heal itself. Assuming that clients will be able to use that information to interpret what their body is telling them from then onwards, there should be no need for return consultations.
