Ye Old Pasty Shop, Bolton town centres famous and long standing pasty shop is set to feature in a new TV series.

Owner Marie Walsh is having her pastes showcased as part of a new 6 part TV series which begins on August 16th on BBC2. The series titled 'The Great British Bake Off' sees amateur bakers test their skills while taking in the Countries baking history.

The programme presented by Mel Geidroyc and Sue Perkins will include an episode dedicated to the history of pies and pasties.

Marie aged 72 has owned the shop since the 1960's and the business has been in the family since 1898 and says that the reason her pasties are so popular is that they are all made by hand and not by machine.

Bolton TV chef Tom bridge who took part in the series said he feels Marie's pasties are the best in Great Britain!
