Tickets for Bolton’s magical winter wonderland will be available from Monday, October 27.

The council announced last month that it was bringing a host of attractions to the town to attract shoppers and boost town centre trade over the festive period.

New this year is a giant fifty metre snow slide, which will go on Newport Street. The slide will join a giant 100 foot Ferris wheel and 255 square metre ice rink on Victoria Square, and a Santa’s grotto on Oxford Street.

The snow slide, ice rink and grotto will be in town from November 29 to January 4, 2015. The giant 100 foot Ferris wheel, which first rolled into town last year, will also be in Victoria Square from Thursday, December 11.

The attractions will open: Thursday to Saturday from 10am to 7pm; Sundays 10am to 5pm; Monday to Wednesday from 10am to 5pm. The wheel will be open on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Eve from 10am to 3pm. They will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Please note hours may vary dependent on weather and school trips.

Leader of Bolton Council, Cllr Cliff Morris said: “The snow slide is a new addition to our winter wonderland programme this year and I’m sure it will prove to be very popular.

“There will be plenty on offer in Bolton; a host of attractions and a whole line-up of entertainment planned.  I’d encourage everyone to come along to join in the fun.”

The wheel costs: £4 for adults; £3 for under-16s, and £3.50 for senior citizens and students. Family tickets at £8 cover two adults and two children or one adult and three children.

The ice rink costs: £6 for adults; £3.50 for under-16s, and £4.50 for senior citizens and students. Family tickets at £12. A discounted rate of £1.50 per person is on offer some Sunday mornings for parent and child (under-eights) only sessions at 10am.

The snow slide costs £4 for three rides and £10 for a family ticket. Joint tickets for all three attractions can also be purchased, prices vary. Tickets can also be bought in person from a box office on Victoria Square when the attractions open.

Santa’s grotto will be in town from November 29 to December 21. The cost is £1 and opening times are Friday to Sunday 11am to 5pm and Thursdays from 11am to 7pm.
