Where to join in Remembrance Sunday events around Bolton 2015

Remembrance Day and Armistice Day is upon us. We know a lot of people will be paying their respects in their own way but here are some events happening in Bolton to commemorate Remembrance and Armistice Day.


The Mayor of Bolton is holding an Annual Remembrance Concert on Saturday 7th November at Bolton Parish Church. There will be performances from local theatre groups and bands. Full details here

This year, the main Bolton Remembrance Day Service will take place on Sunday 8th November, keep an eye on this blog for more information to come.

The Westhoughton Remembrance Day Parade is taking place on Sunday 8th November 2015. It will start at 9:20am and assemble outside St Bartholomew’s C.E Primary School. Read full details here

A beautiful poppy display is at Stoneclough Village Church, everyone is carpeting the grounds around the church with beautiful red poppies. Why not come and lay your own.

The Bromley Cross service will take place at Christ Church on Blackburn Road at 10am on 8th November. You are more than welcome to join other residents walk around the Dunscar War memorial afterwards. Click here for more information  

Not only that, on Wednesday November 11th, a service for Armistice Day will take place at 11am. Following that, there will be a memorial service taking place for Second World War Veteran, Walter Wood who died this month, aged 93.
