Victoria Square in Bolton is set to be invaded by strongmen and women later on this year, with the return of the Strongman Bolton event for the fifth year running.
Between the 26TH and 27TH of July, dozens of athletes will descend on Bolton Town Centre to compete in the strongman arena. It has become of the biggest strongman events in the country. Events the strong men and women take part in include lifting sandbags or car axels, depending on their weight.
On the Saturday the mens experienced, womens newcomers and mens open event will take place, then on the Sunday it is the turn of the mens newcomers to compete. It runs from 9.30am-6pm on Saturday and 10am-4pm on the Sunday. The last event will be trophy presentations for the winners.
As well as the strongman arena, there will also be dance, music and fitness for those watching the action to take part in.
