Bolton's fantastic town centre shuttle bus is set to continue for another year.

The metroshuttle which is jointly funded by Bolton Council and Transport For Greater Manchester  and covered 15 stops on its 3 mile circular.

The service is availabe Monday to Saturday between 9am-5pm.

The servic e has clocked up over 90,000 passenger journeysso far this year and the contract has been agreed for another year with South Lancs travel.

The shuttlebus service aims to reduce traffic and congestion in the town centre but to also offer an improved shopping experience with people able to get across the town centre easily. This is a really great service for the town expecially when you compare it with towns like Bury where there is no such service and the shops and market are spread far and wide.

Passengers travelling on the continued shuttlebus service will travel on two environmentally friendly diesel-electric hybrid buses.

The route will stop at 15 stops around the town centre in a 15 minute period covering the stops below

Bolton Community College

Sainsburys

University of Bolton

Morrisons

Bolton Market

Law Courts

Octagon Theatre

Art Gallery, Library and Museum

Town Hall

Magistrates Court

Post Office

Market Place Shopping Centre

Crompton Place Shopping Centre.
