Well its almost the Easter Holidays in Bolton, children soon be breaking up from school and as usual there is plenty in and around Bolton to keep them busy.

The Easter holiday period this year will be quite an unusual one as its so late in the year. It is my understanding tha this year Easter is as late as it can ever be but if you would like to learn more about how the dates for Easter are determined click on the link below

How Easter Sunday Dates Are Determined

Not only do we have the very late date of Easter but we also have a Royal Wedding the week after on the Friday, then followed by a Bank Holiday Monday in May! So two long weekends in a row, great for the masses but my guess is busines owners will be feeling the pinch on this one.

AND on top of that, at the start of the Easter Holidays, Saturday 16th April, Bolton Fans will be making the jounery to Wembley for the semi finals of the FA Cup.

Well as I said there is lots to do in and around Bolton over the Easter Break and here are some ideas for you to plan ahead with.

Bolton Libraries and Museum as always has tons to do over the Easter Break for all ages. Not only at the main Museum in Bolton town centre but also at the museums around Bolton such as Smithills Hall and Hall-ith Wood.  Why not have a scroll through our events section and look out for things that are happening at the Museum?

Fancy a meal out? Why not visit the Chinese Buffet in Bolton where you can eat fantastic food in a great setting at any time of day. This is one of my favourite eating places in Bolton

If you have little ones and fancy an Easter Egg Hunt, why not go along to Smithills Farm With plenty to do including Spring Lambs, Easter Bunny's and of course the Egg Hunt itself.

Passion for Bolton will be taking place on April 23rd at 11.30am in Victoria Square, Bolton. Reminding us all about the real meaning and story behind Easter with a play performed by Bolton people of all ages, on stage on the steps of the Town Hall.

Meet Peppa Pig at Bolton Market Place shopping centre. Young or old, if you love Peppa Pig then you can meet her on April 22nd at various times throughout the day.

Cineworld Bolton have plenty happening over the Easter Break with lots of special screenings, offers and events. And dont forget they were voted The Most Loved Cinema In The UK!

Fancy a show or a visit to the theatre during the break? In Bolton we have two fantastic town centre venues, The Albert Halls and The Octagon Theatre both who have plenty to inspire you over the coming weeks.

The Albert Halls have a full programme of events here with shows such as 'Dont Judge a Book By Its Cover' by Sunshine Dance and Funky Lou, a fantastic Dance Exravaganza.

The Octagon Theatre with The World Premier of The Demolition Man all about the life and times of that Bolton great, Fred Dibnah!.

Well as usual Bolton is going to be a busy and vibrant place over the Easter Break. Have a great time, enjoy the break, fingers crossed for kind weather and please EAT LOTS OF CHOCOLATE!. You have my permission!
