Christmas is a time for giving, and sometimes during the festive period, many charities get forgotten, which is why many of thebestof bolton members are supporting local charities this Christmas.

Firstly, both Fidgets Soft Play Centre and Julie Lomax Photography are supporting Bolton Young Persons Housing Scheme.

Bolton Young Persons Housing Scheme is a charity who provides temporary supported accommodation to homeless and vulnerable young people aged 16-25 in the Bolton area.

Fidgets Soft Play Centre are supporting them by helping them with their Handbag Appeal. Fidgets are collecting handbags filled with necessities such as sanitary products, tissues, food and even deodorant, gloves, scares and many more which they will then pass on to Bolton Young Persons Housing Scheme to give out to the homeless this year.

Julie Lomax is doing something different, she has just launched her fabulous 2016 which shows off a wonderful picture each month. These calendars are only £15 and £1 from every calendar sold will go towards Bolton Young Persons Housing Scheme.

Crompton Way Motors are supporting the Key 103’s Mission Christmas this year. They are an official drop off point for the campaign, so if you’re out and about shopping for toys this year, why not pick up an extra toy to go to a disadvantaged child. Last year, Crompton Way Motors were flooded with gifts for children in their office, they had to move them from the waiting area to another room as there was no room for the customers!

The Purple Property Shop are also supporting the Bolton Homeless Appeal this winter. They are asking if anyone could make up a shoebox and put in any essential items to help the homeless get through the winter a little easier. You can fill the shoebox with anything such as bottled water, toiletries, clean underwear, socks, food that doesn’t require cooking, tissues and much more. You can drop the shoebox off at The Purple Property Shop and they will arrange the shoeboxes to be delivered to the charity.

Bolton Kia are supporting the Westhoughton and Horwich Rotary Sleighs this year! They have loaned them a brand new Kia to tow Santa’s sleigh around both Horwich and Westhoughton throughout the festive period. If you see Santa when you’re your and about, be sure to say Hello!

Many of our members are supporting Bolton’s Big Christmas Toy appeal where local people and businesses will be collecting toys to give them to 2000 disadvantaged children. Some of our members taking part in the appeal include Mecca Bingo, Alexandra West and some of our partners Bolton FM and BWFC are also involved!

If you know of any charity events that are happening in Bolton over the festive period, let us know and we can feature these on our events page!
