The University of Bolton's address make it the fourth safest university in the North West

Good news if you’re a University of Bolton student, the campus has been called one of the safest in the region. Students are less likely to be victims of crime here, making it the fourth safest in the North West. It was compiled using rankings for student related crime from 11 universities by the Complete University Guide. Only Cumbria, Edge Hill and Chester had lower crime rates.

Bolton had a crime rate of 1.67 per 1,000 residents which is far lower than other universities.

The University said they work closely with the Neighbourhood Policing Team to make sure their staff and students are as safe as possible. The police give advice to students when they move into accommodation and attend the fresher’s fair to meet new students of the University of Bolton.

Across the whole country, the University of Bolton is he 52nd safest. The figures for burglary, robbery and violent crime are very low indeed at 0.76, 0.07 and 0.83 respectively. These figures relate to all victims in the area, and not just students.
