The Olympus Fish and Chip restaurant on Great Moor Street, Bolton is celebrating 25 years in business this year and things have never been better!

Tasos Pattichis, the owner and founder of The Olympus, followed in his parents footsteps, as throughout his childhood they owned and operated one of Bolton’s longest standing restaurants at the time, The Olympus Grill on Churchgate which they ran for 40 years until closing in 1999.

As a young man in 1987 Tasos bought and converted a small fruit and veg’ shop on Great Moor Street and opened the original Olympus Fish and Chip Shop before adding to the takeaway business by extending into adjacent premises and creating a 60 seat restaurant.

Further expansion saw the business grow to become the icon for fine affordable dining which it represents today, occupying almost the entire block at the corner of Newport Street and includes the latest addition, the Orangery to the rear which opens onto the walled garden where tired shoppers can enjoy teas, coffees or even a full meal when the sun shines on Bolton.

Recently The Olympus Restaurant has become an attraction in it’s own right as coach tourists visiting other North West destinations stop off to enjoy freshly cooked fish and chips and listen to the mellow sounds of the pianist, tinkling the ivories on the newly installed Mini Grand Piano, an addition which many customers believe has taken The Olympus to a totally new level of excellence.

Of course you may choose to enjoy the signature Fish and Chip Dinner but you may equally just want to take refuge with a latte after shopping or conduct a business meeting in the peaceful surroundings of the Orangery, whatever the reason you will be welcomed like a VIP, shown to a table and helped with your coat; not the usual service you might expect in a town centre venue, I think you will agree.

These are all the things which have impressed customers to the Olympus so much that has led them to being recognised as THE Most Loved Specialist Restaurant in the UK and The 2nd Most Loved Business in the entire country during the recent 14 Days Of Love Campaign organised by thebestof bolton.

For anyone not having experienced the Olympus Fish and Chip Restaurant in the last couple of years, I urge you to go in and find out just what this oasis in the centre of Bolton has to offer, the go to thebestof bolton website and tell us what you think.
