The British Transplant Games are coming to Bolton this August and as part of the occasion The Bolton News are sponsoring a very special donor run.
The events take place on Saturday 9th August at Leverhulme Park, Long Lane, Bolton, BL2 6BZ. You can register for the event from 4.30pm and the starting gun will be fired at 6pm.
There will be two races on the day, 3 kilometre and 5 kilometre. It will be £10 to enter the 5 kilometre race and £8 to enter the 3 kilometre race. Anyone entering after the 1st August or entering on the day itself will need to pay a £2 supplement. The 5 kilometre run is for over 13’s only, but people of all ages can join in with the 3 kilometre race.
It is hoped that this race and the Transplant Games will raise awareness of organ donation and encourage more people to join the register and therefore decrease the number of people who die whilst waiting for a transplant.
You can walk, skip, hop or of course run round the course, the most important thing is to take part and finish the race!
