Bolton based restaurant group, THE Chinese Buffet are well on their way to achieving grand ambitions of being the biggest and best Chinese restaurant chain in the country.

Set to open their seventh restaurant early in 2014, Wrexham will add to sites already booming in Bolton, Wigan, Wakefield, St Helens, Preston and Halifax, with a further 3 sites earmarked for 2014, including a prime Blackpool location.

The business is the creation of Bolton entrepreneur Peter Wu, who launched his first restaurant in Bolton in 2006 having identified a niche for providing authentic Chinese food, adapted for the English market, presented in a more upmarket way.

Peter said “I wanted to offer buffet style food that wasn’t totally price driven, in surroundings that matched the high quality and presentation of the food.”

THE Chinese Buffet employs over 250 staff across the region with at least a further 30 jobs created in each new restaurant and operates a centralised kitchen facility in Wigan which will service all the restaurants so we can maintain the quality and consistency of the food.

Peter approached brothers Paulo and David Hu to join him in the venture. David has been an accomplished chef since 1979, having worked in top Chinese restaurants in the region and Paulo is an experienced business man.

In 2010, having already opened their second restaurant in Wigan they began their ambitious expansion plan which will boast at least 10 sites by the end of 2014.

The additional funding will ensure THE Chinese Buffet are able to remain on track with plans to deliver authentic, quality food in high class surroundings to people across the North of England and beyond!
