Bolton's Street Wise Soccer had a boost when they received sponsorship from Dominos Pizza at a Youth Event held during Bolton's Youth Work Event during October Half Term.
The whole event for SteetWise kicked off at 10am with a whole host of football activities taking place with freestyle soccer stars from accross the country as well as locals showing off their skills. Plenty of people were on hand to give the youngsters tips and hints while the staff from Dominos Pizza Bolton were on hand supplying the performers with tasty slices of pizza to keep them fueled up.
There was a also a skills competitions 'The StreetWise Soccer Freestyle Football Showdown' which consisted of three different stages, the first was to give each free styler a chance to show of their individual skill and style, progressing through the competition in two more heats before Connor McCarthy was crowned overall winner with a prize of £200 and a voucher from the sponsors Dominoes Pizza.
StreetWise Soccer offer a whole range of soccer and freestyle courses at their Bolton venue at Bolton Enterprise Centre and are always looking for volunteers and sessional staff to help to deliver their busy programme of events. For more information visit the StreetWise Soccer Website.
Its great to hear of national companies like Dominos Pizza getting involved on a real local level with community work.
All Domino’s Pizza stores are charged with delivering more to their local community. This is a programme run by Domino’s head office to encourage all stores to support local charities and events and play an active role in their neighbourhoods. For more details on how your school or group could get involved with the Bolton stores, contact the Derby Road store on 01204 522822 and the Blackburn Road store on 01204 304400.
