Stamp Prices to Increase in the UK
25th March 2014
... Comments

We all use stamps regularly but there's something happening with the prices you will need to be aware of. You can find out in this blog the changes in price for when you come to posting your letters.

From 31st March 2014, the first class stamp is set to rise by 2p and the second class stamp is set to rise by 3p, as well as a large letter first class stamp up to 100g will raise by 3p and a large letter second class stamp will increase by 4p!

The last stamp price increase we had was two years ago when the first class stamp was risen from 46p to 60p but now the Royal Mail has announced another.

Currently, a first class stamp is 60p but that will rise to 62p, a second class stamp is 50p but that will rise to 53p, a large letter first class stamp is 90p and that will raise to 93p and a large letter second class stamp is currently 69p and that will raise to 73p

Although the prices are going up, Royal Mail said our prices are amongst the best in Europe as the average in Germany, France, Italy and Spain charge 67p for first class stamps and 60p for second class stamps. Plus it also costs £7bn a year to run Royal Mail.

So, make sure you're aware of these stamp price increases when it comes to posting your mail!
