Seymour Road Nursery Celebrate First Birthday Back Under The Management Of Deborah In An Extreme Way

Birthday celebrations come in all forms; some people like to celebrate with a glass of champagne and a few close friends, others with everyone they know in a melee of people, drink and dancing. But Seymour Road, celebrating their first birthday back under the management of Deborah, are doing things a little different.

Deborah herself will be taking part in a Reverse Bungee challenge, combining celebraton of the milestone with charity fundrasing for The Christie's new patient treatment centre.

A reverse bungee, for those that aren't aware, is a fairly good representation of being in a fighter-jet and having to press the ejector button. But safer. Brave participants find themselves seated in an open-framed, twin-seater spherical cage, attached by Bungee cords to 140ft telescopic towers. The only thing holding the riders down is an electro-magnet. And, when that is switched off, away you go, catapulted skywards, reaching a height of 200ft in less than 1.4 seconds.

The acceleration is much greater than the fastest Ferrari, and riders will experience a gravitational force of 4.8G. It's an extreme thrill, and not for the faint-hearted. It is, however, all in aid of a great cause, and a novel way of celebrating an excellent first year back in business for Seymour Road Nursery.

Seymour Road Nursery provides quality care to children from all areas of Bolton, offering a safe and stimulating environment for their development. The nursery is OFSTED registered and approved.
