Cake Delight are one of our newest members. Based in Bolton, Cake Delight is a family run business that designs and creates amazing cakes and cupcakes, from simple and colourful children's designs to elaborate wedding cakes.

It was opened by sisters Emma and Michelle Waring seven months ago on Deane Church Lane in Bolton, though the two have been creating exquisite cakes together for the past four years. The business itself was started when Emma's daughter wanted a fairy castle cake for her birthday, but the price for such a cake from exisitng retailers was several hundred pounds. So it was decided that it'd be easier and more cost-effective to create one.

And they have come an extraordinary long way. The creations have been creating a tasty whirlwind of success in Bolton, with people clamouring for their tasty delights. And the demand has meant they have had to take on an apprentice to keep up. An excellent choice to have to make.

That lucky apprentice is Jessica Humphrey. She's 17, and is in the midst of a Level 2 VRQ Diploma in Professional Cookery. Here's what Emma and Michelle had to say on her appointment:

"We chose Jessica because we thought, with her friendly personality, that she would fit in with all the staff and customers at Cake Delight. We have found Jessica to be a super fast learner and has picked up lots of new skills on her first day. We can't wait to watch her cake decorating skills blossom, and are really proud to have her on board."

Jessica is equally enthused with her new position:

"I'm really looking forward to learning lots of new skills, and also perfecting the skills I have taught myself."

Congratulations to Jessica, and to Emma and Michelle on their success. It's a great business, and we at thebestof bolton are Cake Delighted (sorry!) to be associated with them.
