Glen Mortimer runs the fantastic Stirling Academy Drama classes on Halliwell Road which is open to children aged 6-18!

We asked Glen a few questions of what it's like to be in business

1)What do you enjoy most about your business?

I enjoy the thrill of calling my actors to tell them they’ve got an audition for something exciting, or even better to tell them they’ve been successful and got the part! I also enjoy teaching and watching peoples self-confidence improve. I also enjoy the fact that I have some lovely teachers working with the children of Bolton putting their efforts into something worthwhile and proactive.

2)What inspired you to run your own business?

I was always interested in acting. It started at school. I went to Castle hill in Tonge moor, it was an all boys school with a girls school next to it. They wanted boys to be in the school play which rehearsed on Friday afternoons. It was a no brainer for me, not only was it a chance to be with the girls, it also got me out of double maths!

3)What’s your favourite movie of all time and why?

Oh, trick one is this seeing that I’m in the game. Comedy wise it would have to be ‘Life of Brian’ Others include ‘The Patriot’ ‘Notting Hill’ and I’ve just caught up-to-date with ‘Homeland’

4) What is your guilty pleasure?

Watching Laurel and Hardy films – I have every one amongst others.

If you would like to find out anymore information about Stirling Academy, give them a call on 01204 848333.
