The Man Vs Mountain Challenge is in full swing now, with the team coming together and training regularly. One of the members of the team is Mark Pollitt, director of Digicomm BCS and great supporter of the Bolton Lads & Girls Club.

Mark will be 40 when the team set off from Leh to Menali, yet it is almost as if he has been practicing for this event his entire life. No stranger to the outdoor, Mark is a great fan of walking and hiking having mounted Snowdonia, and traversed the Lake District, Innsbruck Mountain range, the Liechtenstein range, and similar in South Africa.

He's also a big cycling fan, which is probably a good thing where this challenege is concerned. It will see 12 intrepid adventurers cycling  the 375 mile route from Leh to Manali which will see us pushing our pedals at some staggering altitudes (5380 metres at the highest point – some 570 meters higher than Mont Blanc).

More information can be found here regarding the challenge.

The Bolton Lads & Girls Club rely on funding to keep their excellent facility running. Without the help of people like Mark and the rest of the team, they would be unable to help so many of the local children who rely on them.
