It is sexual health week between September 15th and September 21st, with the aim of it to keep everyone informed about sexual health and sexually transmitted infections or STI’s.

The pharmacists at Sykes Chemist can give you advice on sexual health and let you know where your nearest clinics are located if you need further help and support. They can’t dispense any medicines except for preparation of pubic lice or scabies, but they can tell you how to use any medicines prescribed by your GP correctly.

Sexual Health Week is organised by the Family Planning Association, who work across the country educating people about sexual health. They recognise that it’s a delicate and often embarrassing subject to talk about, but the more we do talk about it the more informed we will become.

The theme for this year’s week is emergency contraception and the FPA will be giving out tons of information on the choices on offer whilst the staff at Sykes Chemist will be giving advice on how to talk about emergency contraception with patients to add to the support they already provide.

Call into one of the many Sykes Chemist branches in Bolton to speak to their professionals or telephone them on 01204 684731.
