Inspire your children to stay fit and active this summer by signing them up the Iron Kids UK event on Saturday 3rd August 2013.

Last year’s event was a huge success with over 1000 children between the ages of 3 and 15 taking over Bolton town centre the day before the iconic Iron Man triathlon.  This year, demand for Iron Kids is even greater and arrangements are being made to enable 2000 children to take part.  However, over 800 children had signed up to Iron Kids by the end of March 2013 so council officials are urging parents their young athletes up as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Race details are as follows:

3 to 5 year olds:        500 metres accompanied by a parent or guardian CLICK HERE for the 500m course map

6 to 10 year olds:      1.5 kilometres                                              CLICK HERE for the 1.5km course map

11 to 15 year olds:    2.5 kilometres                                             CLICK HERE for the 2.5km course map

Parents can register their children online at www.ironkids.co.uk or by visiting the Sports and Active Living unit reception desk at Paderborn House.  The registration fee of just £2.00 per child includes entry pack with special commemorative T-shirt and each child will receive a medal after they finish the race.

The atmosphere last year was wonderful as so many children crossed the finish line and became Iron Kids to a lively, cheering audience of family, friends and the Bolton Community.  This year should be even better! Don’t Miss Out!
