TL Safety have some advice for car owners regarding their tax disk.
There have been some compliance changes to the taxing of your road vehicles, both commercial and private. If you tax your vehicles online you now have 14 days to display your tax disc which has been extended from 5 days. This only applies when you have applied for your new road tax disc before the old one expires. It's not a grace period, it never has been. So if you haven't applied for a new tax disc before your old one expires then come the expiry date you are untaxed. You are still required to display road tax discs even though it can be checked online so renew early and avoid fines and penalties.
Check your tax expiry dates and put it in a database or your outlook to flag expiry dates. The same with MOT's and your insurance renewals. Driving without insurance is illegal and no MOT can leave you with invalidated insurance.
