Horwich Summer Fete - Baking for Babies

Spice Valley Horwich, Bolton, Greater Manchester

14th July 2012 11.30am - 4pm

Rachel McGrath has been a baker for years, and has recently turned her hobby into a blog all about food; including recipes, reviews and local events. She also set up the Clandestine Cake Club in Bolton, which has become hugely popular since it started in February. It'ÂÂs for people who love to bake and talk to others about their hobby. Rachel love nothing more than baking for a good cause, and raising money for local charities.

Eight weeks ago, one of her friends (and fellow baking club members), Dawn, had a baby five and a half weeks early. He spent some time in the Royal Bolton Hospital's Neo-Natal Unit before he was allowed home. Dawn was so impressed with the care he received, she asked for Rachel'ÂÂs help to raise some much needed funds for the unit. It started as something small, but with a little enthusiasm grew much bigger! She'ÂÂs a mummy blogger, so between the two of them, they have a small army of followers.

Together, they are fundraising for the unit by organising a summer fete in their home town of Horwich.

The Event:

They have been lucky enough to secure a fantastic venue in the heart of Horwich; Spice Valley. Their aim is to raise as much money as possible so that the unit can go on to help more families when they need it most.
