The closing date to register to vote in the general election is 20th April, have you registered yet?

We know that registering to vote for the general elections may seem like a hassle, but it really isn't. It only takes a couple of minutes and has quite a few benefits too!

Being on the electoral register will give you the chance to vote for who you would like to be in charge of our government.

Not only that, there's also a few benefits for you with registering

One benefit is:

It'll help you apply for credit and can also improve your credit rating. This will help you when you come to buy a phone contract etc. If you aren't registered to vote, you may be refused credit like this.

There are a few rules when it comes to registering though, some of these include:

  • You must be aged 18 or over
  • You must be a resident of the UK, Republic or Ireland or the EU
