The guide dogs charity are looking for more volunteer guide dog puppy walkers.

A roadshow is being held in Victoria Square on Thursday 5th August between 11am and 2pm where current volunteers will talk about their involvement with the charity and demonstrate basic training with their puppies.

Volunteers are needed for the full time care and education programme of guide dog puppies where a puppy will stay with the volunteer from the age of 6 weeks until around 12 or 14 months when they are then returned to the guide dog charity to begin their intense and specialised training programme.

The charity are looking for dedicated and enthusiatic peole who can care for a pup full time as without the puppy walkers, the charity will cease to have guide dogs, It is an integral part of the guide dog process.

Sharon Dunn, Guide Dogs puppy walking supervisor said that puppy walking can be challenging and it is real commitment to take a puppy into your home for a year but the guide dog charity offers lots of support and guidance and therefore the volunteers find it extremely rewarding.

The really are urging anyone who is interested to come along to their show in Victoria Square Bolton on Thursday 5th August.
