Fieldings Porter have well over 100 years of history behind them, and, in all that time, they've achieved a lot., perhaps, most importantly, being voted one of the most loved businesses in the UK by local people (though that may be from a slightly biased angle). However, they're not slowing down in any way. In fact, if anything, they're even busier now thatn they have ever been.
Here's all the latest . . .
Acquisition Of Lomax Geddes & Co. One of the biggest pieces of news out of the FP offices, what could well prove to be their biggest news of the year, is their acquisition of Manchester legal firm Lomax Geddes & Co., located in the Royal Exchange Buildings in central Manchester.
Lomax Geddes and Co. has two partners, Ian Brown and Peter Brennand, and a small team of administrative staff. They will continue initially to practice under the Lomax Geddes and Co. name, before becoming Fieldings Porter in due course. The incorporation of the Manchester practice represents a further exciting development for Fieldings Porter who acquired local firm Cumming, Hodgkinson, Dickinson in 2011.
Criminal Defence Peer Review To further reaffirm their position as one of the best law firms, not just in Bolton, but the UK, Fieldings Porter's criminal team have been graded as category 1 by the Peer Review Team of the Legal Services Commission. 16 files were assessed as part of this mandatory exercise that takes place approximately every 5 years.
Fieldings Porter were classed as excellent, the highest of 5 categories available, and this means they are part of the top 3% of firms in the country who have achieved this scoring.
Withdrawal From Mental Health Work Partly due to the departure of Andrew Perks, the firm has chosen to withdraw from its contract with the Legal Services Commission in the provision of mental health law. Basil Herwald has stepped in and will remain concentrating on his many family clients.
It's quite obvious that Fieldings Porter are professionals. They're an excellent firm, and will work hard for you, no matter what you need, be it personal or a business issue.
