Fairtrade Fortnight, Bolton Helps to Fly The Fairtrade Flag

Its Fairtrade fortnight which means towns up and down the country including Bolton are giving a big push to Fairtrade products and events.

The theme this year is 'show off your label' encouraging people to really show off and be proud of the fact that there product is Fairtrade and to be proud of that badge.

There is a focus on fairtrade for two every year and Bolton will be beginning with a FREE Fairtrade coffee morning with The Mayor and Mayoress, the patrons of Fairtrade in Bolton. This event will be in the Artillery Suite in the Town Hall between 10.30-12.30.

Other events include:-

 

Tuesday 1st March         10.30. -12.30.      The Mayor, as Patron of Fairtrade in Bolton, will host a Fairtrade FREE Coffee morning at the Town Hall , Artillery Suite.  ALL WELCOME.

Thursday 3rd March        12.30. – 3.00.       THE BIG EVENT FOR SCHOOLS will be at the Reebok Stadium – 2000 children from invited schools will join in fun workshops about Fairtrade and then move to the North Stand to create a mammoth version of the Fairtrade logo – their way of ”showing off the label”.

Saturday 5th March  before their game against Aston Villa Bolton Wanderers team will warm up in Fairtrade shirts – showing off the label.                             

Tuesday 8th March         6.00. -  8.00.        There will be a FREE evening meal event for School Teachers with Harriet Lamb, CEO of the Fairtrade Foundation. The event will be at the newly opened Signature Restaurant in Bolton College on Deane Road. 

Saturday 12th March      10.00. – 1.30.       THE BIG ONE FOR EVERYBODY – A FAIRTRADE AND LOCAL PRODUCE MARKET at the Festival Hall with over 30 stalls.
