Entries Are Still Open For The Chance To Be Crowned Miss Bolton 2012

When people think about beauty pageants, they usually think one of two things; that they are a great thing, after all, who doesn't want to be judged to be attractive and the best their town, city or even country has to offer. Or that they encourage the idea that it is more important to be good-looking than it is to be ambitious, intelligent or hard-working.

However, much more than a beauty pageant or modelling competition, the organisers of Miss Bolton are looking for an ambassador for the area. Someone well presented, confident and able to communicate are just some of the qualities that the judges were looking for. And nobody embodied those desired qualitites more than 2011 winner, Gabriella McCoy.

Having attended Bolton School before going on to graduate from the University of Nottingham (yes, much like myself) with a law degree, Miss. McCoy has that rare, lethal combination of beauty and brains. And she has put her reign to good use, actively promoting the area and raising the profile of many worthy causes, all whilst working for a law firm in London and running a successful fashion blog.

But it will soon be the time to hand over the title and the tiara as a new Miss Bolton is crowned. And it could be you. The winner will, amongst other prizes, win a place in Miss England where she will have a chance to go onto Miss World where the main prize is $100,000.

Miss Bolton is open to any girl who will be aged 17-24 on 1st August 2013 who was either born, has lived, works or studies in the Bolton area. Entrants must have never been married and have no children. So, if you fit the criteria, and would like to enter, click here.

And good luck.
