Bolton Council and The Dogs Trust have organised a series of events to give the residents of Bolton the chance to have their dog micro-chipped free of charge.

Regan Veterinary Group are taking part in a campaign via the Dogs Trust to microchip any DOG for free from 1st April 2014 – 31st March 2015.

In February 2013, the government announced that it will be introducing legislation to make micro-chipping of all dogs compulsory in England from 6th April 2016. They have set the 3 year target to ensure that everyone involved (owners, breeders, enforcement agencies) understand what is expected of them and will be able to plan ahead.

Therefore, the Dogs Trust has set aside £6m towards the micro-chipping all of un-chipped dogs in England and is organising a series of events around the country.

At the events, owners will be able to have their dogs microchipped for free. RSPCA Bolton will also be assisting with free dog tag engraving, whilst officers from Bolton Council will provide information on responsible dog ownership.

The events are below:

Friday 28th March 11am - 2pm Moses Gate Country Park, Hall Lane, Farnworth BL4 3DN

Friday 11th April 11am - 2pm Leverhulme Park, Long Lane, Bolton BL2 6EB

Friday 9th May 11am - 2pm Hatfield Road UCAN, Hatfield Road, Bolton BL1 3BL
