The Big Bolton Panto starts on 4th December2016

Oh, no it doesn’t, Oh Yes it does! Traditional family fun for the run up to the Festive Season is not to be missed.

Presented by The Bolton Wanderers Community Trust, The Big Bolton Panto is showing Dick Wittington and His Pirate Adventure from Sunday 4th December to Sunday 1st Jan 2017.

The story is loosely based on the tale of Sir Richard Wittington, a 15th Century merchant and later Lord Mayor of London. The original story is a mixture of fact and fable and tells how he escaped poverty as a child and made his fortune due to his cat who was an expert rat catcher.

This wonderful action adventure can be enjoyed by children (and adults) of all ages as they follow in the footsteps of countless others in years past. The performance is full of topical jokes, references and none stop laughter along with songs we all know and love! This is a real rollercoaster of a pantomime in which the audience will accompany our brave hero Dick Whittington on his travels to London to make his fame and fortune with his trusty companion Tommy the cat. On this adventure, you will meet the beautiful

Alice Fitzwarren, her father Alderman Fitzwarren who runs the village shop along with our larger than life Dame - Sarah the Cook who has the biggest wardrobe collection you have ever seen! Be prepared to be doubled over with hysterical laughter by the bucket load provided by their dim-witted friend, Sarah's son and village idiot, Idle Jack played by the hilarious star of Television Keith Chegwin the multi-talented English broadcaster and actor with a list of impressive credits to his name in a career that has spanned forty years or so. Keith Chegwin is no idle jack in real life but he is a great all-rounder and a very funny man. Enjoy.

So, come and travel across the seven seas and encounter all the elements of good and evil led by the evil King Rat who maliciously corrupts the jolly Captain Shiver-Me-Fingers into causing mischief and mayhem leaving Dick - with the help of Fairy Bow-Bells - to be the swash buckling hero that saves the day!

There are only 7 weeks to go to Christmas, people wishing to attend the Big Bolton Panto at Bolton Whites Hotel, should book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment as ticket availability may run out. People wishing to attend with large groups should also book right away.

The Big Bolton Panto is a huge annual event that sets the seal on our Christmas celebrations and this year’s performance promises to be a great success with its excellent cast and supporting dancers.
