Boltons Olympic Torch Relay and Concert Road Closures and Travel Advice from Bolton Council
29th May 2012
... Comments

The Olympic Torch is only two days away and while this is a really exciting time for Bolton, there will also be some disruption around the town due to road closures as the torch passes through.

There are a number of road closures around the town and here is an idea of where these are and when.

  • From 6am to midnight, Spa Road will be closed from its junction with Walker Street to Queensbrook Industrial Estate. From 3pm the full length of Spa Road will be closed.
  • From 12pm to 3pm, there will be residents and business access along Park Road (at Gilnow Road), Mayor St and College Way (at its junction with Ellesmere Street). From 3pm, this route will be fully closed.
  • From 3pm to 9pm, Chorley Street will be closed at its junction with Spa Road to its junction with Bark Street and Dawson Lane.
  • Le Mans Crescent, Howell Croft North and Howell Croft South will be closed from approximately 3pm. Parking will be suspended all day.
If you are coming into town for the Olympic Concert, you are being advised to leave the car at home but you can plan your journey by bus with Greater Manchester Travels journey planner.

Car parks open on the evening of May 31 include: Bow Street; Crompton Street; Deane Road; Market Place; Octagon and Topp Way.
