Bolton 2 York 0

A fustrating first half at the Reebok as York City and there 5000 travelling fans were looking for a major cup upset.

Coyle left out our star strikers Davies and Elmander and and brought in Blake and Klasnic, you could tell they were a little match play rusty and did not penatrate the stubborn York goal at any stage of the half.

York managed to fustrate the Wanderers and the fans were glad to get to half time and hope Coyle would put a rocket up afew of the players who looked tired and sluggish against the non league team.

The manager was as fustrated as the fans and so off the bench came the Bolton skipper with Elmander to follow and what a differance it made in the last ten minutes.

York could argue they deserved a replay but Super Kevin Davies was on hand in the 83rd min to slot home and put the Wanderers ahead.

The second goal was pure class as Elmander showed what he is capable of and struck a sweet shot to make it 2-0.

Give York fans there due, they sang their hearts out and the team played their socks off, but it was the Wanderers who scrapped through and got another local derby game against Wigan in the draw.

All in all, a string of missed chances in our last few games in the league are starting to mount up and after the weekend cup match and sluggish performance Bolton need to improve at Stoke to give themselves abit of breathing space in the league and the chasing teams just below us.
