Exiting times are ahead for the planned refurbishment of Boltons Trinity Street Train Station as a full refurbishment takes place funded by the Department for Transports National Stations Improvement Programme and also the Greater Manchester Integrated transport Authority.

Bolton Train Station has been given the go-ahead for a full and exciting facelift. The project which is due to go ahead soon will see platform facilities and the station entrance completely overhauled.

The exiting new changed will include a new shop and cafe, with the cafe benefiting from a conservatory front and extended canopies to protect passengers from the elements and allow the train stopping point to be moved nearer to the foot of the stairs, reducing passenger walking distances.

It seems that it really will be a state of the art refurbishment with new lighting, PA systems and toilets including disabled facilites.

The overall aim being to encourage customers to travel by train more frequently and ultimately improve their experience.
