At the beginning of October (7th-11th October to be precise) it was back care awareness week and the theme for this year was caring for carers. It was organised by BackCare, a charity which raises awareness of the causes, problems and cures for back care.
As well all know, carers provide essential support and assistance to their friends or family members. However many carers comment that doing their job leads to back pain, which can affect the ability to do their job. In 2011 70% of carers said they experienced some form of back and shoulder pain. Not only that, 4 out of 5 people said they experienced some form of back pain in their life.
There are some simple things you can do to prevent back pain, like picking up boxes the correct way, but if you do still suffer from back pain, you should definitely visit a physiotherapist at Bolton Therapy Centre.
