Bolton Society for Blind People are looking for volunteers to join their fundraising committee.

At BSBP it is their mission to inspire change and to challenge blindness by empowering people who are blind or partially sighted, helping remove the barriers they face.

BSBP cannot do this without the help of Volunteers. In 2013 their Fundraising Committee comprising of staff and volunteers raised over £12,000 to support the continuation of services such as Befriending, Tea Afternoon and Arts and crafts sessions.  These activities and services offer relief from isolation for many of their members.

Over 7000 people living in Bolton are affected by sight loss and a large percentage of these people are very isolated.

"Being a member of the BSBP fundraising committee is a really rewarding experience - the work we do makes a real difference to the services BSBP can provide to local residents who have been effected by sight loss, plus it's great fun too! The committee are very welcoming and it would be great to have some fresh ideas from new members to help continue our fundraising efforts - so if you feel you have something to offer, it would be great to meet you." Rachael Tatlock – Fundraising Committee Member since 2010

If you can spare a number of hours a month to volunteer as a member of the BSBP Fundraising Committee please contact Charity Coordinator Justine Watson on 01204 337 896 for more information. Fundraising or event management experience or skill would be very useful however it is not essential.  Commitment and an enthusiastic attitude to seeking new and fun ways of raising money are preferred.
