Local renewable energy company, BHE Renewables, has appointed a Renewable Energy Manager.

Andy Edwards, 37, will drive forward the company's renewable energy services and products for commercial and domestic customers locally, regionally and nationally.

The company, based at Wilkinson House on Radcliffe Road, in Bolton, supplies and installs a variety of renewable energy equipment including air and ground source heat pumps, solar panels, solar thermal, combined heating and power (CHP) units, and mini wind units.

Andy, who lives in Southport, has had many years' experience in a variety of roles involving renewable energy.

Andy worked on the Eden Project in Cornwall, the Aqua Cube Aquatics Centre for the Beijing Olympics, the Echo Arena in Liverpool and many others.

Andy has also worked on numerous renewable energy installations for social housing projects and commercial properties including farms, warehouses and solar farms.

Andy will be responsible for all incoming enquiries as well as carrying out surveys and managing installations of equipment.

Andy said: 'Despite the recent reduction in the Government incentive, known as the feed-in tariff, the cost of solar panels has also fallen significantly, meaning that solar panels for households are still a great investment. In fact, the average householder can get up to 14% return on their investment - much more than they get from putting their money into an ISA or a savings account.'

Paul Wilkinson, Director of BHE Services (Bolton) Limited, said: 'We have a talented team of engineers within our renewable division. Andy will add to that team and help drive forward our business further.'
